10:30-11:45 a.m. Panel 1- Building Confidence, Competence and Connectedness the Creative Way!
Research has identified the most effective mentoring programs to be those that are highly structured, motivating to participants, and implemented by trained professionals with previous skill-building training. In this session, panelists address youth “disconnectedness” and the potential of the arts to reach youth in ways that foster self-confidence, build skill, and promote constructive relationships.
11:45-1:00 p.m. Lunch & Poster Session
1:00-2:30 p.m. Panel 2 - Creative Work with Court-Involved Youth
In this session, presenters will introduce three arts-based programs that work to engage and support court-involved youth. Panelist will share practical examples of their work in theatre, film, and music with youth, as well as insights on program goals, outcomes, and next steps.
2:30-2:45 p.m. Closing Remarks
